12 July - Bilbao to Pobena

A day filled with new experiences - crossing the Bilbao river in a hanging gondala/cable car that takes both cars, bikes and pedestrians, walking through beautiful countryside and along the coast. Loved the travelators going up the hill at Portogulete, if only there were more of these 😀🚶🏼‍♀️Walking with my full pack and hiking gear was a learning curve. Still need to sort out what goes where in my pack, for easy access. Appreciated the sisterly bonding with Bernie doing some foot "doctoring". A nosey chicken got up close and even pecked me! A spectacular day, 34 degrees at La Arenas seaside cafe. Enjoying a relaxing evening at the local tavern being serenaded by a group of hearty singing Spanish men.  The village is so picturesque, how lucky am I to be here. Will sleep well tonight ... hopefully, as another new experience of sleeping in a bunkroom at the albergue awaits.
