16 July - Islares to Laredo
Walked along the road to Liendo and then took the alrernative coastal path to Laredo. Was the steepest climb of the walk so far, but after getting rid of a few non-essential items my pack is feeling more comfortable. Found my stride today and feeling really good.
Leaving Islares:
Laredo has cobblestone streets and lots of charm.
Staying at Monasterio Monjas Trinitaria - a beautiful Monastery in Laredo, Spain.
A very special experience tonight, Pilgrims Mass and blessing followed by musical exchange and sharing of pilgrim's stories.
The lovely nuns sung a song for peace, especially for me after hearing my story. Was very moving ❤ This is a very special place.
The evening ended with a shared meal and new friends made. Blessed to meet lovely Maria from Madrid.
